Every election we say we must improve the educational delivery system. Years ago, there was a program called 'No Child Left Behind'. I believe education is critical ...but it will destroy us if it is run like the Nazis in the first half of the last century.

Saw the movie, 'The Book Thief' ...and yes, it was during the time when the Nazis not only had 'book burnings', but also came into your home to check your loyalty.  In this particular movie, the child found a wealthy family that was not subjected to the same treatment as others under the dictatorship ...and there were books.

The child loved to read, so stole books from the home and read them in the basement of his home, where they were also hiding a Jewish person.

Today, it is a mixed bag on how each section of our globe is being governed ...yet, there is a strong movement out there for global awareness and towards unity of the world community.  I also hear the language of 'New World Order'.

In our country, a substantial effort is being made that may be an even more effective method than 'book burning' ...and that's 'book saturation'.

There is so much out there to read, we can't read it all ...and to remain current and keeping in pace with world competition and expectations, we often spend more time focusing on current stuff than valuable works from the past.

And we don't have time to focus on it all ...so we rely on the equivalent of what they called 'Cliff Notes' when I was in college.  Today, it's called the computer, the internet, Google, MSNBC ...or all together a conglomeration that could be referred to as the 'Informational Tower of Babel'.

You can quickly scan these info bits, and then 'share' ...showing others that you are knowledgeable, in the loop, in step (whatever your comfortable lingo).

What does this do?

It satisfies one of the strongest urges we have ...to be accepted.
